TCS board unveils priorities for 2021/2022 academic year

The Timothy Christian School board will operate with six overarching goals in mind through the 2021/2022 academic school year.

The board, led by chairman Ryan Guetter, finalized its priorities at its September meeting.

“We are excited to have the goals represent the diversity of our community and balance a growth mindset with principles of good stewardship and fiscal responsibility,” he said.

Board goals for 2021/2022 are as follows:

1. Maintain a safe learning environment and seek academic excellence in learning through the pandemic.

2. Establish a family recruitment and retention strategy to sustain future growth and engage the current community in school activities.

3. Develop a Financial Sustainability Strategy to maintain long term fiscal stewardship.

4. Meet budgeted fundraising targets by developing and implementing a Fundraising Strategy.

5. Promote and enhance the mental health and well-being of Staff by ensuring that they have adequate resources and support.

6. Develop a diversity, equity, and inclusion plan which addresses anti-racism from a biblical perspective.

On November 18, the board will host the Fall Membership, Supporters & Family Meeting – once again in a virtual forum.

Welcoming new families

The school is currently home to 81 families and 146 students — including 18 new families this year.

“As I reflect on what has been a great start to the 2021-2022 school year, we have God to thank for his faithfulness,” said Guetter. “Our theme verse for this year (Isaiah 41:10) expresses clearly a declaration of truth that God will uphold us and strengthen us – and that he will help us.”

“I know that the families, students and teachers alike have felt the presence of God this year and He is and will be with us for this entire academic year.”

Now in its 63rd year of operation, Timothy Christian School in North Etobicoke draws students from more than 40 different churches across the GTA.

“As each teacher seeks to teach with a biblical foundation and shape the minds of our next generation of Christ followers, I would ask that you please continue to cover TCS in prayer,” said Guetter.

Located at 28 Elmhurst Drive, Timothy Christian School strives to educate and engage students for a life of service in Christ’s kingdom.
